Your AI conversations are accumulating an external memory you can't access
Once AI conversations start stacking up over months and years, there is a problem with the context window. Years of exchanges may be sitting there — accumulating an external memory of what you were thinking and talking about, decisions, recurring ideas, things you learned — but all of it is locked inside those conversations with no reliable way to access it. The further the problem of persistent knowledge goes unaddressed, the more acute it becomes.
Ultimately, it is an information architecture problem. Whatever the architecture looks like, one important part is probably supporting a compact context window for the agents that access the database — and doing it without requiring you to think about it at all. That likely means some kind of compression layer on top with indexes, so agents can rapidly understand where to look and drill down through layers of generalisation into the specific nodes where the finer details live.
