The SlipBox fix that isn't better tagging

My SlipBox workflow for capturing ideas and notes now looks like this: I listen to all of my materials in my headphones while cycling, walking, or washing dishes. Whenever I find something interesting, or something gives me an interesting idea, I pull out my phone and enter a note so that it goes into my notes database. The problem is that this inbox quickly becomes a graveyard of voice memos and bits of material that aren't super useful. Two things help me with that:

  • A script that converts my voice memos into transcripts. There's an open-source solution for this, Whisper, though I'm not sure how it works with a Notion inbox; I usually use a simple online folder instead. Or I just hit voice dictation on my phone keyboard and dictate straight into text.
  • Stating the reason for every note I leave. The next step in the workflow is filing the note into the PKM, and the reason makes it easier for the bot to link it into the right place.

The reason also makes it easier for me to understand later what I meant: for example, the reason plus the quote from the source.
